Communications and Policy Intern
Elaine Laux is a recent graduate of the University of Dayton. She was born and raised in Cincinnati, and spent her K-12 years in Lakota Local Schools, a large suburban public school district in southwestern Butler County. She has a strong interest in education policy which stems from both her 2015 summer internship with State Senator Peggy Lehner, and also from her relationship with former Ohio Governor Bob Taft, who is now a professor at the University of Dayton and teaches a course on education policy. Elaine has a specific interest in economic policies and how they affect public schools, and because of this, she wrote her senior thesis on education funding methods and how they differ across all fifty states.
