Joined by an impressive panel of speakers--Bill Evers (the Bush administration's assistant secretary for planning, evaluation, and policy development), Dianne Piché (executive director of the Citizens' Commission on Civil Rights) and Andy Rotherham (codirector of Education Sector)--the topic of the day is how the Bush Administration may have sacrificed its conservative principles in the process of compromising with liberal education advocates to narrow the achievement gap.
