After reading your latest report, The State of State World History Standards 2006, I was disheartened but not surprised by the failing grade my state, Utah, received. Our youngest child just graduated with honors from high school. In the history class she took this year, the study of World War II consisted mainly of watching the Hollywood version of Pearl Harbor. Many other important events in history were dealt with in a similar, cursory fashion. I am grateful that all our children are now finished with their high school "education."
