It's not unusual for corporate foundations to invest in education, but increasingly these generally conservative organizations are teaming with reform-oriented groups. The??Credit Suisse Americas Foundation just announced a new initiative that will make grants in two of the most important ed reform areas:
The program will concentrate on two specific areas: investing in schools that represent materially better alternatives for students, and investing in programs that aid in the recruitment, training and retention of effective teachers and school leaders.
TFA is one of the early recipients, and high-performing charters are likely to be part of the mix as well.
Another good sign for ed reform.
