U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said yesterday that he would like to see Kaya Henderson, Washington, D.C.'s interim schools chancellor, stay in her position ?for the long haul.? Mayor Vincent Gray has said that only after conduction of an orderly review process and consultation with the Washington Teachers' Union will a new chancellor be named, but he has also said that he likes Henderson (who was former Chancellor Michelle Rhee's deputy) and has worked well with her.
