Let's break down the details of the D.C. teachers' contract--is it a national model for school reform? We can ponder the question over our corn syrup school lunches. These low-quality lunches still aren't as depressing as low-performing schools, but at least we're seeing progress in New Orleans and finding high-performing needles in the urban schools haystack. Fixing the education gender gap, however, is whole other story.
