New York has a particularly lively charter arena (Stanford is so yesterday). KIPP teachers opt out of the union, the State Senate has its hearing on charters and a newly introduced bill would force the schools to admit more SPED students. There's also lots of push for hybrid or virtual education outside the Empire State. No matter the method, reform by any other name would be as sweet. Otherwise, cast your vote for Obama's HS commencement speech, read up on Roland Fryer's take on learning, and don't forget to eat.
