In a longish op-ed in the Telegram, John McTernan, a former political secretary to Tony Blair, writes that the UK's new, Tory secretary of state for education is not moving with sufficient vigor to save the nation's schools. ?Children have one shot at going through the system?if it fails them, it fails them for life,? McTernan declares. ?Each year that reforms are delayed dooms another cohort. So the real worry about Gove's programme should not be that it is too radical, but that it's not radical enough.?
