The American Enterprise Institute examines the student-loan industry, the role it plays in higher education finance, and its implications for college access and affordability. On September 25, AEI will host a daylong conference to discuss all the subject's ins and outs. Speakers will include Alan Bersin, Secretary of Education of California; Catherine B. Reynolds of EduCap, Inc./Loan to Learn; Richard George of Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation; and Bridget Terry Long of Harvard. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with a reception at 5:30 p.m. We're attending, if only to learn how to get our own student loans forgiven. Read more here.
