The Baltimore Sun editorial board continues its excellent work holding Maryland's feet to the fire on RTT. Tenure, merit pay, charters, alternative certification--it's all there.
The state superintendent knows the state isn't in position to contend for a grant right now, so Maryland's waiting until the second round to apply. Keep your eye on the 90-day General Assembly session that begins in January. Let's see if the governor and legislature respond.
Here's hoping??Secretary Duncan gives the state the push it needs. A tough, clear message from Maryland Avenue to Maryland could go very, very far.
