Such conversations are about to begin in Malaysia's classrooms. The Sun reports that next year the conservative, majority-Muslim country will include sex-education classes in its secondary schools curriculum, which ?is a move to help reduce unwanted pregnancies, baby dumping, and promiscuity among teenagers.? The deputy education minister said that the new ?course is not to sensationalize sex or promote promiscuity. The classes starting in January 2011 will give students information on what they are going through in terms of puberty and adolescence so that they don't end up getting pregnant or becoming promiscuous.?
