The National Council on Teacher Quality has announced the second year of its national research competition on teacher quality. The competition focuses on original research that uses NCTQ’s excellent TR3 database of collective bargaining agreements. Last year’s edition set the bar high, with finalists’ papers being both original and unique, and judged by an all star jury lineup that included Eric Hanushek and Jane Hannaway, amongst others. This year, up to twelve semi-finalists will win $5,000 to develop their proposals into full-blown research projects, and finalists will come to Washington to present their papers and a chance at the grand prize of $10,000. Proposals are due at 5pm EST on June 1. Find more information here.
