Are you young? Involved in education? A professional? That makes you a Young Education Professional (YEP)! And you're invited to an event next week, featuring a few of us middle-aged education professionals; information below.
WHAT: The Original YEP Generation Panel: Ten Years Later
WHERE: Watergate, 600 New Hampshire Avenue NW, 3rd??Floor Common Room
WHEN: Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 6:30pm-8:30pm
RSVP here.
Young Education Professionals was originally launched in the late 1990s by a group of up and coming leaders in the education field and was phased out in the early 2000s. In 2006, YEP-DC was revived and re-launched with the next generation of young education leaders.
But what happened to the previous members of YEP? What are they doing today? How did YEP help them in their career pathways? In their professional and personal lives? What can the current generation of "young education professionals" learn from their experiences? Our three panelists will discuss the original YEP generation and where they are today, ten years later.
Panelists include:
-??Craig Jerald, President, Break the Curve Consulting
-??Michael Petrilli, Vice President for National Programs & Policy, Thomas B. Fordham Institute
-??Jenn Vranek, Founding Partner, Education First Consulting
This event will be co-hosted by YEP-DC and the CityBridge Foundation. A networking reception with wine and cheese will follow the panel.
