Just a quick shout-out to Edmoney.org. I heard a little bit more about it on Thursday. It's an Education Writers Association website aimed at helping journalists (and others) track just how stimulus dollars are being spent when it comes to education and schools. The idea is to have a place to post and search news stories, data and feedback about ed stimulus spending at the federal, state and (hopefully) local levels. Matt Waite of Hot Type Consulting is running it along with a few others, including Nirvi Shah of the Miami Herald. Quite interesting and I'd think helpful, not only for journos, but for all of us. Check it out.
P.S. Just as a sidenote?..Fordham's Andy Smarick is one of the speakers here at the EWA conference; he's on a Saturday morning panel about Turning Around Failing Schools. Also, if you'd like to read more about what's happening at the Ed Writers conference, you can check out www.ewainsf.blogspot.com for regular blog posts about the sessions and discussions. The conference continues through tomorrow (Saturday).
