- No less a light than former New York Lt. Governor Betsy McCaughey cited and discussed the findings of Fordham’s recent Lost Einsteins report in a NY Post column this week. Nice! (New York Post, 10/11/21)
- Ohio’s latest school report cards are supposed to be released tomorrow. While they will include 2020 test scores and other possibly-problematic data, this piece goes to great lengths to assure us that they will not include any ratings or rankings of schools based upon the data. I’m sure no one will take the opportunity to connect the various dots on their own. (Cleveland.com, 9/12/21)
- At this week’s state board of education meeting, members were told that all three districts currently operating under the aegis of an Academic Distress Commission due to extended years of academic suckitude submitted “improvement plans” (I’m sure that’s what it said on the title pages, regardless of what was in them) to ODE on time. They are all currently being reviewed and will likely be approved before the end of October. At that point, their emergence from ADC control will formally begin. (Gongwer Ohio, 9/12/21)
- Honestly, guys, you might want to hang on to that Lorain one for a few days. Although it seems clear to me from this piece that business as usual already returned to Lorain City Schools some time ago, plan or no plan. (Elyria Chronicle, 9/12/21)
