- Here’s some great investigative journalism for you: School districts in southwest Ohio and northwest Kentucky were all on the same page when it came to spending the first big chunks of their federal pandemic relief funding: New and updated HVAC systems. I jest, as I know you expected. (Honestly, I figured the answer would have been stage lights or artificial turf.) But I hope we do eventually get some look at what specifically these guys bought. I recall a lot of talk back in 2020 about some sketchy-sounding “disease neutralizing” air handling systems that sounded very popular. (Cincinnati Enquirer, 10/19/22)
- In case anything negative happens to any Columbus City Schools teachers who are found by their union comrades to have *gasp* worked during the recent strike in the district, please know that help is definitely wanted at the city’s charter schools right now. No picketing required. (Fox28 News, Columbus, 10/20/22)
- St. Mary Catholic School in Columbus will also be looking for more teachers soon as ground was broken earlier this week on an expansion to the K-8 school. Along with room for more students (including those using EdChoice vouchers, if you must know), the new construction will include adult education and a health center. Awesome. (Columbus Dispatch 10/18/22)
