COMPILER’S NOTE: Gadfly Bites will be on vacation next week. (“Thank goodness!” I hear you cry. “You need a break. Hopefully you will return refreshed, renewed, and ready to boost up what has been—let’s face it, man—your recent mediocre work. Could you maybe take two weeks and really come back strong?”) OK. A little bit hurtful, y’all. I won’t lie. But blunt is good (see what I did there?). We’ll be back on October 19 whether you like it or not.
- Only one story for clips today. Always a sad situation, but this one is dank, man. Pete Kadens, the…um…. “green” entrepreneur from Toledo appears to have grown himself a real organization in HOPE Toledo. This story is about the appointment of the organization’s first president. While previous work (and smokin’ headlines) have been focused on college access and full ride scholarships for high school grads, it seems that HOPE Toledo will be leaf-ing out into new areas such as early childhood education and perhaps even healthcare. And that ain’t schwag….I don’t think. (Toledo Blaze, 10/8/20)
