- There’s really only one important story to talk about today, and that’s the announcement that Governor DeWine appointed Steve Dackin as the inaugural director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. - If there’s only one important story, why are there two items in today’s clips? Because we have more discussion of the upcoming solar eclipse which, shock horror!, includes a couple of school districts in the path of totality not only holding regular school that day but, who’da thunk it?, turning that day into a giant science lesson. Thank heavens we still have some real educators in our midst. For those districts who are shutting their doors to students and having a “professional development” day—shame on you.
