- New reporter just dropped! Nah, he’s not new to Cleveland.com, but this is the first time I’ve noticed data reporter Zachary Smith’s name on a voucher-related story. Cool. Quite a few numbers here from Ohio and other voucher/ESA/tax credit scholarship states, sliced and diced and charted a few different ways. And quite a few words too. Not sure how much new information is contained in either, but some valuable updates on how the popularity of private schools has increased as they have come within the financial reach of more families via vouchers and the like. That last bit is my interpretation of the piece, but YMMV of course. (Cleveland.com, 11/13/23)
- Also new to me is this outlet called L.A. Progressive. A weekend opinion piece on vouchers/ESAs/tax-credit scholarships in all of the states that have them covers very similar territory to the above, but in words only. No pretty charts. Not something that I would normally clip here, but it does reference an interview with Fordham’s Aaron Churchill (published in the Dayton Daily News back in March), so it felt like a potential inclusion for today’s edition. Coming out at the same time as the Cleveland.com piece above sealed the deal for your humble clips compiler. Enjoy the combo platter! (L.A. Progressive, 11/12/23)
