- The administration and elected school board of Green Local Schools announced last week that federal Covid-relief money will be used to renovate the district’s fieldhouse, including new windows and doors, HVAC, and more. The money will cover 100 percent of the cost, no matter what it turns out to be. They’ll figure that out later. (The Daily Record, 12/18/21
- Canton native Armani Sharpe has been making a name for herself as a celebrity hair braider in Las Vegas the last few years. Last week, she returned to her hometown and provided makeover—and some helpful life and career advice—for Beacon Academy students at a pop up salon inside the charter school. Awesome stuff! - In case any of you out there were worried about Cleveland mayor-elect Justin Bibb changing leadership at Cleveland Metropolitan School District when he takes over as nominal head of the district in January, I think this piece should probably calm your fears. I personally have a few qualms about just how high CMSD’s awesomeness really is these days, especially if the slim list provided here is all there is, but a) there are definitely worse districts out there, and b) no one in Cleveland (or anywhere else) cares one whit about whatever qualms I may have about anything.
