- In case you missed it, Senate Bill 178 was voted out of the Senate on Wednesday, on a vote of 22-7. Our own Chad Aldis is quoted among those urging the House in a genteel fashion to take up the measure at their earliest convenience and to do likewise. - Meanwhile, on the ground in Athens, the Southeast Ohio Classical Academy took a big step forward recently, receiving the approval of their charter from the Ohio Department of Education. The chair of the future charter school’s board seems thrilled to have checked this off her to-do list, telling the Messenger that her team “will be freed up to get to work on other things like searching for a principal, fundraising, and solidifying building plans.” The doors are scheduled to open in fall 2024. Kudos! (Athens Messenger, 12/7/22)
