- Here’s a fantastic story about Jeannette Boyle of East Canton who recently earned her high school diploma—only 35 years late—thanks to her relentless hard work to pick up algebra, economics, world history, government, and science after a long time away from the hallowed halls. She also credits her employer, McDonald’s, for providing funding and support through their Archways to Opportunity program. Kudos to all! Not only does Ms. Boyle recommend the program enthusiastically to her fellow McD’s employees, she’s also looking toward future postsecondary education options herself. (Canton Repository, 4/14/22)
- Sounds like at least one resident of the exurban Norton City School district has got some problems with “them kids” coming in to the district via open enrollment, according to coverage of his comments at a recent school board meeting. Those problems are: A) Too many of them. B) Their bad behavior. C) Their low test scores dragging the whole district down. I won’t tell you where “them kids” are probably coming in from, but there is a clue for you right here in this write up. --------> (Akron.com, 4/14/22)
