- In case you missed it last week during your April Fool’s revelry, the state board of education narrowed the list of candidates for state superintendent to seven finalists. Interviews will be conducted next week. And if you have a moment, do take a look at the extraordinary image used by Spectrum News to illustrate this story. - Construction is underway for the Greater Dayton School, with all the accoutrements you expect from a high end, non-sectarian private school (you know which ones I’m talking about). As we have noted here before as the plan has evolved, the big difference will be a tuition fee of zero dollars for the low-income families to which it is targeted. EdChoice Scholarships will pay part of the cost, with philanthropy taking up the considerable remainder. Best wishes to everyone in this fantastic-sounding effort. (Dayton Daily News, 4/3/22)

The application window is open right now and the line forms behind me! (Toledo Blade, 4/3/22)
