The view from Dayton
The principal of Horizon Science Academy says she is dubious of the measures approved by Dayton City Schools last week which they say are intended to help improve student transportation. While she hopes for the best, for her, and for the families attending HSA, the reality on the ground calls for a stronger and more decisive response.
Indy funding saga continues
Last week, Indianapolis Public Schools officials unveiled a revised revenue-sharing plan to increase the amount of funding that affiliated charter schools would receive from a potential tax hike. The proposed new plan, which increases the shared amount from $6.4 million to $9.7 million, is still inadequate Indy charter supporters say; mainly because it leaves out all the non-affiliated charters in the city.
